District Governor

Damon Donnell joined the Rotary Club of Athens, Texas, in March 2013 upon nomination by the late Honorable Jack Holland, 173rd District Judge. He is the 94th past president of the Athens Rotary Club and served as District 5830 Disaster Recovery Planning Chairman from 2022 to 2025.
With a deep commitment to Rotary’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives, Damon serves as the Kenya Country Coordinator for Hope Springs Water, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to delivering clean water, sanitation solutions, and hygiene education to communities in need. His work closely aligns with Rotary’s Area of Focus, improving lives and promoting sustainable development in western Kenya through partnerships with local churches and orphanages.
Locally, Damon serves as Board President of Crescent Heights Water, a cooperative providing vital water services to rural Henderson County. He also holds positions on the Board of Directors for Friends of the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens and serves as a Commissioner for Henderson County Emergency Services District 11, underscoring his lifelong dedication to community service and wildlife conservation.
Damon earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Houston and pursued studies in Business Administration at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. Professionally, he founded Group EngTech, a boutique consulting firm specializing in assisting small businesses in navigating opportunities with the federal government and Defense Industrial Base.
