Karen Maines and Randy
Karen became a Rotarian in November 2001, following her father Jim Killian’s footsteps into the Longview (Greggton) Rotary Club that he’d served during in the 70’s and 80’s. 
Karen has served as Seargeant at Arms, Chair of the Police and Firefighter Appreciation Golf Tournament and Dinner, Club Administration Chair, Scholarship Chair, Membership Chair, Foundation Chair, RYLA Club Coordinator, 2017 Longview PRCA Rodeo Chair, and Club President 2019-2020.
District 5830 service includes District RYLA Committee member, RYLA Team Leader and Assistant Team Leader, and District Alumni Chair.
Karen has been active in Longview for many years, having served on multiple City boards and commissions, including 10 years on Planning and Zoning, the Comprehensive Plan Task Force, the Landscape and Tree Preservation Task Force, the Smart Growth Task Force, the Arts!Longview Task Force, and others. She currently serves her community on the Public Transportation Advisory Committee, the Arts!Longview Board, the Police Academy Advisory Committee, the Walk of Honor Selection Committee, and has made multiple InterCity Trips with the Longview Chamber of Commerce.
For 35 years, Karen has played French Horn in the East Texas Symphonic Band, is a charter member and serves on the ETSB Board.
Karen has worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for 42 years, and loves her job at Forest Square Dental in Longview, where she’s known many patients for over 30 years.
Husband Randy co-owns Ben Maines Air Conditioning and Heating in Longview and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Daughter Alicia Taylor lives and works in Louisville, Kentucky. Randy and Karen attend Pine Tree Church of Christ in Longview, where she gets to sing alto with the Support Singers.
AND, since she was born in Oklahoma, shortly after her dad graduated from Oklahoma University, Karen is a committed Sooner fan. BOOMER!
