October is here, and once again I find myself wondering, “Where did the time go?” This Rotary year is moving quickly, but the energy and enthusiasm I am seeing throughout District 5830 continue to grow.
One of the greatest joys of serving as your District Governor is visiting our clubs. Every visit has been a little different, and that is exactly what makes District 5830 so special. I have enjoyed getting to know Rotarians, hearing your stories, learning about your projects, and seeing firsthand the ways you are making a difference in your communities.
Hurry before they are gone! This year, we’re changing things up! District 5830 is holding a Foundation Raffle to support the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund, PolioPlus, and Disaster Relief.
Tickets are $100 each, with prizes awarded at our Celebrating Lasting Impact Dinner on November 7 in Marshall. You do not have to be present to win! We would love to see you there. If you have not registered yet click here to register.

This is an overview of Community Economic Development – Pathway to Impact . The Pathways to Impact are a set of goals, concepts and ideas that can help members create service projects that meet community needs, are sustainable, and result in measurable change.
We have had 29 cases of the Wild Polio Virus this year. Let us advocate, donate and educate to end Polio forever.
We have immunized over 3 billion children and raised over 3 billion dollars for Polio education. Last year Rotary raised $477 million dollars for Polio and I can proudly say our District helped raise the money.
October is Community Economic Development Month, and it reminds me of something I have come to appreciate more and more during my years in Rotary: sometimes the greatest gift we can give is not simply helping someone today, but giving them the opportunity to build a better tomorrow. When Rotary provides vocational training, supports a small business, creates jobs, or helps families become financially self-sufficient, we are giving something very powerful—hope, dignity, and opportunity. I am so proud of the generous Rotarians of District 5830 who continue to make these life-changing projects possible, both here at home and around the world.
