IPDG Ted Huffhines District Conference 
Special Bulletin on the 2017-2018 DG Ted Huffhines District Conference held in Longview, Texas on October 19-20, 2018 with approximately 130 in attendance. 
 
The event was a celebration of Rotary District 5830 Rotarians Making a Difference. Congratulation to 2017-2018 District Governor Ted and Angela Huffhines who were inducted in the Arch Klump Society and because of his "Outstanding Leadership" District 5830 received 1st Place in Polio Fund Giving of $127,013.00 and 2nd Place in Annual Fund Per Capita giving of $167.00.  This Special Bulletin was prepared to honor the Clubs and Rotarians that continue to make a difference in District 5830.  Special "Thank You" to Lillie Reves for taking over 100 beautiful pictures that captured the events of Friday night, October 19, 2018 and Saturday, October 20, 2018.  I have documented 68 of those pictures and placed them on the District 5830 Website under Photo Albums.   This bulletin will display a few of those 68 pictures so to view all pictures go to www.district5830.org.

Thanks goes to all the Clubs and Rotarians that donated items for the Silent Auction.   We had over 37 items and made $2,137.00 for Rotary Foundation for Polio.  Thank you Ingrid Self and Shirley Griffin for encouraging individuals and businesses to donate. 
 
The Texarkana International Rotary Club sponsored a Polio Plus raffle and raised approximately $1500.00 after PDG Jo Ann Parkman won a case of wine and turned around and sold 11 bottles of wine for $25.00 each.  Way to Go PDG Jo Ann.  Remember that the Bill Gates Foundation matches 2 to 1 for every $100.00 we give.  Other funds were raised during the conference and will be sent to the Rotary Foundation for the Eradication of Polio. 
 
Saturday was filled with Club and Individual recognition, great entertainment and educational breakout sessions.  A big "Thanks goes to the Breakout Sessions leaders: RRC Rita Esterly- Membership Part 1 and Part 2, DA Shirley Pinnix-Evans - two separate sessions on MyRotary/Rotary Club Central " Tips on how to achieve 2018-2019 Rotary Citation Award", DGN Jack Wedge and Deborah Bell - Foundation and International Service,  President Amanda Folmar - Youth Services, Past President Vickie Boggio and President April Barber - Club Flexibility, DG Judy Guthrie - Fundraising, DGE Jim Finstrom - Committee Development.
