Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange students arrived on August 9th and 10th and will be here for the entire school year. They are both being hosted by the Cedar Creek Lake Rotary Club and attending Mabank High School. They will be attending the District Conference in Idabel, OK on October 8th and the SCRYE Winter Conference in Tulsa, OK January 27th thru 29th. Cecile and Giorgio will also participate our RYLA program.As Rotarians, we can be very proud of the little-known RYE program. Since it is run by Rotarian volunteers, the total cost for one of our D-5830 Outbound Students is about $6,500 - $7,500 for the long-term school year program which is about half the cost of the well-known for-profit student foreign exchange programs. RYE short term exchanges are also part of our RYE program and occur in summer two-to-four-week exchanges family to family at an approximate cost of $2,500. Airline fares vary greatly.
Online Student applications for the 23 -24 school year are currently being accepted and should be completed by November 10th for long term and February 10 for short term.
Online Host Family applications are available. RYE program strives to have students hosted by two or three different host families during the school year. Contact Chris or Barbara if you would like to learn more or be sent a link to an application.
