Rotary Christmas Parade Call for Entries
Tyler – The local Rotary International Clubs are accepting entries from public organizations, bands and other groups to participate in the 2018 Rotary Clubs of Tyler Christmas Parade. The parade will be held in downtown Tyler and begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29.

 
The Christmas Parade will officially welcome the holiday season, and most importantly the arrival of Santa Claus! The Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Square will serve as the finale. Preparations are currently underway to mark this exciting event!
 
This year’s parade theme is “Be the Inspiration” and winners will be selected in six categories: Best Holiday Theme, Best Band, Brightest Entry, Spirit Award, Most Creative, and Best Decorated Vehicle.
 
 
This year parade organizers are asking each entry to pay a small entry fee to offset expenses.
Registration fee from August 31 to October 31:
·         $25 for all Commercial Entries. Commercial Entries include area businesses and all for-profit entities.
·         $15 for all Non-Commercial Entries. Non-Commercial Entries include marching bands, groups from schools, churches, scouts, civic/service clubs, and all other not-for-profit entities.
·         No Entry Fee for First Responders (Law Enforcement, Fire, Ambulance, Military, and other similar agencies), and government officials (elected and appointed).
 
Late Registration fee from November 1 to November 17:
·         $50 for all Commercial Entries. Commercial Entries include area businesses and all for-profit entities.
·         $30 for all Non-Commercial Entries. Non-Commercial Entries include marching bands(including school entries from the same school as their band), groups from schools, churches, scouts, civic/service clubs, and all other not-for-profit entities.

A new procedure will take place for this year’s parade. Approved registered entries will receive detailed instructions via email. Please read all instructions very carefully. No entries will be allowed to participate if they are not registered and approved prior to the parade date. Registration will close Friday, November 23, or once 100 entries are received.
 
The parade route travels south on Broadway before turning right onto Ferguson Street, left on Bois d’Arc Avenue, left on Erwin Street and left on Spring Avenue, (new this year) left on Line Street and right on Broadway, back to the starting point.
The  Christmas  Parade  will  be  fun  for  the  whole  family  and  everyone  is encouraged  to  attend this  festive  event!
