As Rotarians in the time of COVID-19, we can all benefit from the inspiration of C. S. Lewis.

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending." C.S. Lewis
Remember that we as Rotarians inspire people and friends daily. What is ordinary for us may be quite extraordinary for others. My own experience with this came when, as a Rotarian and a pilot, I participated as ground crew in a District 5840 Conference in Kerrville when the International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians (IFFR) joined with Challenge Air, an organization created to change the perception of Children with Special Needs through the gift of Flight. We were all doing what we've done hundreds of times and not paying much attention until the mother of one participant spoke up: “When my Johnny goes up with y’all and flies around he comes back feeling he can do anything. And when my Johnny feels like he can do anything, he truly can do anything.”

The thought was humbling. Where we had all been concerned with safety and the process of getting planes in the air, this mother gave us insight into the outcome and how Rotary Opens Opportunities and changes lives.
