Congratulations to Diane Kavanaugh, 2020-2021 Past President of the South Tyler Rotary Club, who has been selected by the District 5830 Nominating Committee as District Governor Nominee Designate.  She has been selected to serve during the 2026-2027 Rotary Year.
 
Pursuant to the District’s Bylaws, specifically Article II – District 5830 Committees, the Nomination of Diane Kavanaugh will be held until September 30th to permit any challenges or re-nominations and will thereafter become final at midnight on September 30, 2023.
District 5830 sincerely thanks the Nominating Committee for their service.  This year’s committee was composed of IPDG Carolyn Franks, PDG Mike Groom, PDG Jack Welge, PDG Jim Finstrom, PDG Lee Montgomery, Susan West from Lindale Rotary Club, Brian Somerford from Marshall Rotary Club and Jim Speier from Tyler Sunrise Rotary Club. 
 
Diane joined the Rotary Club of South Tyler, Texas, in 2014 and has served as Assistant Governor in 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 Rotary Years. Diane has served on many of the South Tyler Rotary Club committees such as RYLA, Tyler Christmas Parade, Club Website Editor, Club Bulletin Editor, Vice President, Spaghetti Supper Chair, Foundation Treasurer.  Diane received South Tyler Rotary's Rotarian of the Year in 2018-19.   She is a Member of the Paul Harris Society, EREY and Sustaining Member, Benefactor 2020-21 and Major Donor Level 1 2022-2023.
 
Diane has over 30 years of leadership development with nonprofit and civic organizations including PATH, Rotary, Discovery Science Plane, Jaycees, Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership, American Association of University Women, and Tyler Mini Maker Faire. Experience includes board management, strategic planning bylaws/policies and financial development. Other qualifications include Organizational and Planning, Accounting and Human Resources.
