ARE WE THERE YET??? The universal cry from the back seat youngsters, often just as the journey begins, but we can’t stop until we reach our destination. In the Rotary world, many leaders are asking the same question- “How much farther?”. The good news is, most Rotary leaders I’ve talked to, including myself, have thoroughly enjoyed the journey and are sad that it’s coming to an end soon.But there is still much to do before June 30, and just like any journey, we can’t stop pushing forward until we get to the destination. Your District leaders have been busy preparing next year’s leaders for their journey. District Governor Elect Jeff Johnston and District Trainer PDG Carroll Greenwaldt, along with several PDGs and District Officers, hosted a large turnout at the District Training Assembly in Mineola. Jeff is also promoting the 2024 Leadership Seminars coming up this summer, especially since one is in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 10.

District Club Visioning Chair Sam Scroggins has been leading Club Visioning meetings, and is ready to help your club. District Public Image Chair Tiffany Damskov is urging all clubs to sign up members for her online Public Image Training on Saturday, June 8. Youth Exchange Director Jacqueline Meadows is looking for clubs and individuals interested in Rotary Youth Exchange who want to attend the SCRYE Summer Conference in Dallas, July 12-13.
And you are reaching your Club’s destination for 2023-24 by updating your club’s goals and entering your achievements in the Goal Center in My Rotary. You’re planning your celebrations and Officer Installations. As each club President and Officer, just like your District Governor and Officers, wrap up our “year”, we look forward to the next Rotary “journey”. Some will repeat their role in 2024-25, and some will need to be “volun-told” a new role before they get lazy. At the Rotary International Convention in Singapore this past week, I was reminded just how much Rotary needs all of us, and we are changing lives every day.
I know it’s June, but don’t stop yet. We’re in the final month of our 2023-24 journey, and it just keeps getting better!
