Wow! July 1st is here, and suddenly it’s a new Rotary year. A new beginning. A time to celebrate what our District and clubs have achieved this past year, and to look forward to doing even more to share Rotary within our communities and beyond. Really making a difference!

I’m thrilled to be serving District 5830 as Governor for the next 12 months, and I’m looking forward to visiting the clubs and meeting as many 5830 members as I can.
I’ll be delivering new Rotary President Gordon McInally’s theme of “Creating HOPE in the World”, and encouraging clubs to embrace this message as they serve their local and international communities.

Rotary is known throughout the World for creating hope through our Seven Areas of Focus:  Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution; Disease Prevention and Treatment; Water and Sanitation; Maternal and Child Health; Basic Education and Literacy; Economic and Community Development; and the Environment. Working together as a team through Rotary, we can create a better world for people everywhere. In over 46,000 clubs in 529 Districts, Rotary is 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem solvers united to take action and create lasting change. As my DG classmate reminds us—

“It’s a Great Day to be a Rotarian!!”
