Championship season is upon us. Everywhere I go, someone is talking about the Final Four and
the upcoming Championship game. Just to make it to the final 16 teams is apparently a big deal
and something those teams should be proud of and celebrate.

Our District 5830 Rotary club teams are in our own “Sweet Sixteen”, and I hope each one is proud of what you’ve accomplished this “season”.
Final numbers won’t be in until later this summer, but I’ve seen club growth, new projects
launched, successful collaborations with other clubs and civic groups, and upcoming events
celebrating club achievements.

Many of your clubs are reaching goals set nearly a year ago or more. You’re achieving the
Citation Award for your club. You’ve reached Foundation and PolioPlus giving. You are putting
service above self.
I hope you are celebrating every victory. I brought pom poms to several clubs this year, because
I wanted to emphasize the importance of celebrating your club and your club’s impact locally
and internationally. You are truly making a difference in the lives of people.
And the season isn’t over yet. I know sometimes you get tired. Lean on each other- your team.
Plan a party. Get some pom poms. Remind each other that you belong to a Championship
team.
We’re going to celebrate your accomplishments at the District Conference in Durant, Oklahoma
on April 26-28. It’s not too late to join us. I invite every club to set up a “Brag Table” and display
your projects, your fundraisers- anything you want to cheer about. Let Districts 5830, 5770 and
5750 know who you are and how your club makes a difference. Contact me if you’re interested.
Rotary International District 5830 is a Winning Team, and I’m proud of every single one of you!
