Observations from 6 months in 2023.

It is a pleasure to serve 5830, DG Karen Maines and each of your Clubs.

After 6 months have passed, our focus should now be on what has been accomplished with our CPG grants thus far in this Rotary Year and what has been collected for The Rotary Foundation to ensure a continuing source of funds for Grants 3 years from now.

Please remember that CPG Reports are due on completion of the Project Grant funded, and you can save a lot of frustration by working on the final report a little now and sending in when actually complete as opposed to waiting until May.

Next, please remember that the funds for your grants come from The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund- Share through District Designated Funds received  and are ½ of what you and I contributed through our Clubs 3 years earlier.

Holiday Giving is a great time to review what’s truly important to you and make your gifts to what matters the most.

Our time spent doing good needs to be intentional just like all else that is truly important to us.

As in other aspects of business and Rotary if you have questions, please ask.  All details are important, and all information needs to be on submitted grant request forms.

Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) are important not only for discussion at Lone Star President Elect Training or Regional PETS but also with each submitted grant request.  The Rotary Foundation now expects an MOU to be with each grant request sent.

Our deadlines must be kept.  If Clubs are late in meeting deadlines with The Rotary Foundation, your Club will be waiting on 2024 DDF for your Grants.

Most importantly, your President Elects need to attend Lone Star PETS or District 5830 Local PETS.  It is designed to help you ask the questions and have the training to do your elected job well, including training on The Rotary Foundation.

Thanks for your inspiration, thanks for the jobs you do as Rotarians, and thanks for making all of this a Team Effort.
