District Governor

Diane Kavanaugh joined the South Tyler Rotary Club in 2014 and quickly discovered that saying “yes” to Rotary opportunities is a bit of a hobby. Since then, she has served as Club President, Assistant Governor for three consecutive District Governors, committee chair, website wrangler, bulletin editor, spaghetti supper organizer, and just about any other role that needed a willing volunteer and a good sense of humor. She was honored as South Tyler Rotarian of the Year in 2018-19.
A dedicated supporter of The Rotary Foundation, Diane is a Paul Harris Society member, EREY and Sustaining Member, Benefactor, and Major Donor Level 1. Professionally, she serves as Finance and Administration Director at PATH People Attempting to Help and brings more than 30 years of nonprofit and civic leadership experience to her Rotary service.
Diane and her husband, Jon, live in Tyler with their two supervisory cats, Orion and Leo, who closely monitor all District Governor activities. When not attending Rotary events, Diane and Jon enjoy hiking, camping, and working toward their goal of visiting all 89 Texas State Parks.

Diane often says she could not serve as District Governor without the incredible support of her PATH family. PATH People Attempting to Help has encouraged her Rotary journey every step of the way, understanding the value of service above self and community impact. In honor of DG Diane, clubs are invited to support PATH by holding a collection drive for small plastic grocery bags, a simple item that makes a big difference in the organization’s daily outreach efforts.
