The Marshall Rotary Club hosted a fabulous Rotary Foundation Dinner on Saturday, February 11th at the Marshall Lakeside Country Club.  Social hour began at 5 p.m.; a seated dinner was served at 6 p. m. (Several said it was the best Banquet meal ever!); honors, awards, and presentations followed dinner, with one of the highlights being an address by Rotary International Past President Ron Burton.  Other highlights were awards to Dan Carpenter and Shirley Griffin.

Dan received the “Service Above Self” award and is one of only 150 Rotarians to receive the award this year.

Lots of other awards, too!  A live auction featuring Auctioneer Tom DeWitt raised more funds for the Rotary Foundation.  Special bottles of Summerhill wines, autographed Rotary ties, and an autographed book about the 100 years of the Rotary Foundation were auctioned.  Photo albums are ready for you to see the action.  Attendance was over 100!  All clubs are encouraged to send members to all District meetings.  The written word can not describe the real deal, says Rotary Fran.
