2016-2017 DG Lee Montgomery Installed on June 25

 
On June 25th, Our District Governor for 2016-2017, Lee Montgomery, was installed, along with District officers and several club presidents.  The event was hosted by PDG Shirley Griffin and the Longview Rotary Club at the new Hilton Garden Inn, Longview.

 
 
The event began with a Mimosa Bar and appetizers.  Over 80 members of over 20 clubs assembled in the banquet room for a chef's gourmet lunch served by staff and personally supervised by Chef Ronald Porter.  Table decorations were arranged by First Lady Debbie Montgomery and PDG Griffin, with assistance from Dr. John Griffin.
 
PDG Anson Godfrey was memorialized with a brief tribute to his service in the District.
 
The program began with opening remarks by PDG One o'clock John Childs; review of the 2015-2016 year by DG Tom DeWitt and then installation of District Governor Montgomery by PDG John Henson.  In turn, DG Montgomery installed District Officers, Assistant Governors, and club presidents.  His remarks included predictions and plans for the 2016-2017 year.
 
The 4 Way Test plus the 5th way and ringing of the closing bell completed the event.
 
All in all, the day was successful with expectations of a successful Rotary year.
